Happy Valentine’s Day beautiful daughter of God!

Today brings so many emotions. Some romantic, disappointment, happiness, sadness, maybe even a little jealousy.

But may I encourage you Sister?

You are loved. In the verses are a description of what love is, isn’t, and what love does. Paul is writing to the church at Corinthians and discussing church leadership, how members of the body should interact with one another, and then we have these verses.

Look at the verses again:

“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:4-7‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Right before this chapter, Paul talks about spiritual gifts. That they are given by God to help others. No matter the gift, it’s to be used to build the body of Christ and not bring self glory. Then in chapter 13 of 1 Corinthians, He talks about the way of love. For those of you waiting on a husband, or for your husband to be saved, or for your husband to submit more to Christ and love you the way you desire, to you that hated today because of a recent divorce or separation, these verses can bring so much hope.

Sis, Jesus is patient, He is Kind, He does not envy anyone, He is not rude, and let me get to the real good stuff, He bore all of our sins, He endured the shame of cross, and He rose from dead with all power in His hands! Sister girl! That’s love. Let’s not get distracted by how the world celebrates love. Nope I’m not saying there is anything wrong with Valentine’s Day lol, but I am saying don’t put all the eggs in the basket of one day, when we can look to the God who is love, daily in His Word and most definitely in prayer.

With Love,
Nate’s Good Thing
