All through scripture God invites us to seek and pursue him and his word.

Proverbs 21:21 is no different. The writer tells us that when we pursue, go after righteousness; we will not only find righteousness, but we’ll find life and honor too!

The reward for pursuing or seeking God is God himself!

God is our righteousness, our life, our honor, our everything!

What I’m trying to say is this: what do you want? What are you really looking for? Direction, peace, love, companionship, good health, joy, intimacy, guidance for decisions you need to make?

When we search for God with all our hearts, we will find those things and so much more! You see, the more we put our hearts into people, places, and things we become dissatisfied, overwhelmed, and frustrated. But, when we turn our hearts to our Maker, when we delight ourselves in Him, when we search for Him and we find Him, he waters our thirsty souls, makes crooked paths straight, and He becomes our portion!

Oh Father God, we want you. We recognize that there is nothing wrong with wanting our needs met, but when we place those needs over you, we feel depleted, dry, and thirsty. Lord, you are our desire. We are looking for your will in our lives. We will look for you in your word, through prayer, and the worship of your holy name. Father God, we declare this day you are our great reward. We bless you today! AmenΒ πŸ™πŸ½
