Hi Good Thing,

It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next week! I have been thinking about cheeses for my Mac and cheese, watching YouTube videos on different Cornish Hen recipes, and pinning recipes on Pinterest.

The key to a successful recipe is following the directions. Which also means you actually have to read them lol. Have you ever tried to make a new or maybe even familiar recipe and tried to breeze through or skim over the directions? I have and when I do that, I miss something or make more work for myself. This kind of reminds me about life and how God has given us recipes or instructions for things to go better or smoother, or equip us for the task at hand.

Everything we need for our lives is in God’s Word! I know simple right? But we tend to skim, or read the “recipes” that taste good and take less work and ingredients; and not the ones that take more work and use ingredients that we’re not used to using. Like kindness even when the other person isn’t so kind, or using salt (gracious words) even when you’d like to use bitter words.

Sis, if you’re looking for blessings in your marriage, more patience in your parenting, more sweetnesses in your singleness, it’s all in the directions God has given in His Word. Let’s make a commitment to read all the recipes in there, and do what they say. Our lives will be full of much more flavor when we do.

2022 is approaching. One of my goals for next year is to read the whole Bible! I’m researching Bible tools to do so. If you have any suggestions I’d love to hear! If you’d like to join me, let me know.
