1 I lift my eyes toward the mountains. Where will my help come from?

2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

3 He will not allow your foot to slip; your Protector will not slumber.

4 Indeed, the Protector of Israel does not slumber or sleep.

5 The Lord protects you; the Lord is a shelter right by your side.

6 The sun will not strike you by day or the moon by night.

7 The Lord will protect you from all harm; he will protect your life.

8 The Lord will protect your coming and going both now and forever.

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭121:1-8‬ ‭CSB‬‬

With each holiday we observe, there are so many emotions. Memories of those who have passed away. Bitter sweet thoughts of good times and bad times, and maybe even questions on how to celebrate during a pandemic.

However you’re celebrating this Memorial Day, remember to look up! God is with us. As this beautiful Psalm says, our help comes from the Lord! The Maker of all we see and don’t see. We must not allow our feelings to take the lead, but plant our faith and hope in the Almighty God who is with us, has never failed us, and never will.

Let’s focus our attention and praise on our Protector Father God. Let’s lift up our hands in worship to Him, because He truly is worthy. Once we do what the psalmist is doing; looking up to the Lord, I believe we will get the encouragement we need on today and every day.

I hope this song can lead you into some beautiful worship of our God!
